Hong Kong University Application 2026: HKU, HKUST, CUHK and the IANG Visa
World-class English-medium education at the gateway to Greater China — with a 2-year IANG visa to stay and work.
Hong Kong's top universities (HKU, CUHK, HKUST, PolyU, CityU) consistently rank in the global top 100, teach in English, and sit at the gateway between mainland China and global finance. HKD 145,000-185,000 per year covers tuition; the IANG (Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates) visa grants 2 years of unconditional post-study stay to find work, with extensions and PR pathway after 7 years.
Hong Kong: world-class English-medium universities at the gateway to China
Hong Kong's top three universities — HKU (#17), HKUST (#47) and CUHK (#45) — all rank in the QS world top 50, teach in English, and operate at the intersection of mainland China and global capital markets. Combined with PolyU (#57), CityU (#62) and HK Baptist (#252), Hong Kong has 6 universities in the QS top 300 — the highest density of any city in Asia.
Tuition is HKD 145,000-185,000 per year (USD 18,500-23,500), substantially lower than US private peers. The IANG (Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates) visa allows graduates to stay 24 months without job offer or salary requirement, with renewable extensions and a path to permanent residence after 7 years.
